Remove GIF Background
Erase the background of an animated GIF or short clip and export a transparent sticker. AI dynamic matting keeps the subject's edges consistent across frames — no flicker — with export to transparent WebP, APNG or GIF.
AI dynamic background removal is in the next phase. Meanwhile, try cropping tight on the subject — it solves most emoji use cases.
How to use
- 1
Upload a GIF or a clip up to 5 seconds.
- 2
The model segments the subject on every frame with temporal smoothing.
- 3
Add an optional sticker outline or matte color for 1-bit GIF transparency.
- 4
Export as transparent WebP, APNG or GIF — ready for Discord.

Frequently asked questions
›When will background removal launch?
It's the flagship of our AI phase — the landing page is live now and the feature ships after the local toolbox phase. Check back soon or watch the pricing page.
›Why do GIF stickers get white edges?
GIF transparency is 1-bit: a pixel is fully opaque or fully transparent, so anti-aliased edges show a halo. Exporting APNG/WebP — or choosing the right matte color — avoids it.
›Will it work on video too?
Yes, clips up to 5 s free / 10 s Pro. The timeline trimmer will let you pick the exact segment before upload to save credits.
›What will it cost?
AI features run on credits: roughly 10 credits for ≤ 5 s at 720p, 20 credits for longer/1080p. Registered users get free daily credits; Pro includes a monthly allotment.
›Can I just crop instead?
For now — yes! Use the GIF Cropper to frame the subject tightly. It won't produce transparency, but a tight square crop gets you 90% of the way for emoji.
